Why Dexter? We love the smaller breed as well as the gentleness these offer. We wanted a breed we can use for meat as well as milk if we choose. We did not intend to cross them with Herford but a pasture break in made that decision for us. Now we are smitten with the cross. Since meat is our main reason for cows, Herford offers a bit more bulk.
