While different stages of a goats life can be a different score..knowing how to gauge the condition can help you manage the goats health better. A goat in milk can be a lower score then when she is dry. Dairy goats tend to show more hip but still should have a layer of fat coverage..smooth roundness, not spiny...what ever breed you raise, these score system can help you have some degree of information to decide if your herds feeding program is sufficient or if other issues are at play..We want neither a too thin or too fat goat.
