While reading a magazine, I came across an article that made me laugh. It was a picture of a junk yard with a rose bush growing from the center of an old tire thrown to the side. The article was about looking past the annoyances of our spouse to see the "rose bush" Looking close at the picture I saw old tires, (yep, have those) Old cut pieces of board ( oh yah.. a bunch) A few old rusty cars that dont run..( dont even get me started) .. Yes the picture could be our farm lol...When we came to look at this place the owner pointed to a few piles of this and that..he said " we call that inventory." I thought it was cute until that inventory was mine..now I just see it as junk. I dont know about your spouse, but mine likes to collect things..Free things ( please no phone calls lol) ..He always says he might need it some day. So in reading this article I sat and thought about my husbands "roses".
He is compassionate and caring. He adores me in spite of me. He is a great dad and now grandpa. He is fun to be around and has a child like sense of humor that I love. Although there are plenty of opportunities to find fault ..we should spend more of our time Smiling at the roses

When I read this post, I thought, "She could be talking about my husband.....almost my family." We packed up our four children, two dogs and one cat and moved to SE Ohio over 20 years ago to get away from the city life in MD. We started a small dairy. It was more about the life we lived and not the job we worked even though we worked early morning to late at night. Thanks for helping me to get some perspective back! I love my husband but hate the junk. I am blessed. Blessings to you and yours.
